Extra Extra Read All Aboot It

For those who did not know, my brother is getting married in less than two months. This is the first addition to my immediate family since the birth of one J. Patrick Bunger... pretty big deal. I will be given the opportunity to give a speech at some shower or maybe even the actual reception. I went to two weddings this past weekend and heard a slew of speeches, most of them sappy, laced with inside jokes that were only funny to the speech giver and object of the speech. Unfortunately, all of these speeches had the same subject matter of either the bride or the groom. As a guy that likes to shake things up a bit, I have settled on two possible subjects for my speech: the crowning achievement of American cinema, the Back to the Future Trilogy or the disturbingly underapreciated career achievements of Scottie Pippen. I figure i won't have this many peoples attention for a very long time so i need to make the best of it. I figure i will have their attention for about three sentences before they realize that i am not going to say anything about my brother...and why should I, everyone else will. So I need your help in picking a subject. So is it gonna be BTTF (it might be a little heavy for you but your kids are gonna love it) or ole number 33? also, any other suggestions are welcomed.

  1. Not to play devil's advocate here, but I'm alarmed by the lack of "Top Ten Episodes of ALF" on your list. Should that be added, I am a solid vote for ALF. Otherwise, I think it's time Scottie P. got some love. You've played the BTTF card quite a bit..

  2. I mean Marty McFly can't really get played out McMonagle. You don't exactly see us telling you after 13 years to stop drawing that fucking frog, so lets keep MJ Fox out of this. As for you bungs I'd say something about your brother but if you don't want to go into the conventional sense at least bring the back to the future theme into your speech about Archibold.

Like you and the archman time traveling together but then just make it like the movie. Like "Man Archie remember when you had to take mom to the Enchantment under the sea dance? Yea you totally lossed out on the RPS match. And then the time I thought my hand was invisible but forgot we traveled back in time and smoked that dope peyote with Geronimo and Hunter S Thompson. Crazy times bro"

    Something along those lines.

  3. Lundy, i couldnt agree more with everything you have to say about bttf never going out of style...after all it transcends time via a delorean...as for you mcmonagle...as much as i am a big fan of alf the creature and character i don't really know too much about the individual episodes...i only watch them for alf, so needless to say, every line of dialogue falls on deaf ears...i watched two episodes recently (check out wgn) and i found the same to be true...when alf wasnt on i was just scanning the tv screen from corner to corner waiting for alf to make his entrance
