After what was a fantastically beautiful weekend (80+ degrees / sunny, for all of you non-northeast coasters), I have come to learn a valuable lesson: wearing sunscreen is an important thing to do (especially if you have easily-burned Mick skin). I was able to spend a decent amount of time outdoors this weekend, including an all day concert at Loyola that I hit up today, and chose the SPF 0 option, landing me a solid F in seasonal preparedness.
With my first burn on the books for 2009, I can only laugh painfully at the fact that if I had put on some sunscreen the first time around (an action that I for some reason hate doing, getting all oily and smelling like processed bananas), I wouldn't be applying and reapplying aloe every couple hours (which, if you weren't aware, is basically the same physical process as putting on sunscreen).
Short story even shorter: lather up. It's fixin' to be a hot one this summer.

I prefer a parasol...it is green...(not the color, the eco-friendly meaning of the color) as opposed to the never ending cycle of sunscreen plants emitting all kinds of pollutants which makes the sun hotter...which makes people buy more sunscreen which makes sunscreen plants make more sunscreen which makes the sun hotter which makes people buy more sunscreen which drives up demand for plants to make more sunscreen which makes the sun hotter...i think you see where i am going with this...if you haven't figured it out, let me know and i will try to explain it better
